noun, plural pla·ce·bos, pla·ce·boes.
1. A medicine or procedure prescribed for the psychological benefit to the patient rather than for any physiological effect.
2. A substance that has no therapeutic effect, used as a control in testing new drugs.
3. A measure designed merely to humour or placate someone.

What is Placebo Project?  It is medicine for the soul. An effort to replace tears with laughter.. Frowns with grins.. Sadness with happiness. Our ongoing effort will be to find humor in our hearts and minds and share it with others.
